Finalmente se confirmó cual será la última civilización en la expansión de Age Of Empires III (AoE3),: los Aztecas, que junto a los Sioux y los Iroquíes (no Iraquíes) conformarán las novedades. Por lo que pude leer en el blog del diseñador del juego, Bruce Shelley, están muy emocionados en Ensemble Studios por la expansión, y las mejoras al juego, sobre todo a las civilizaciones europeas, con algúnas nuevas unidades. En cuanto a los Aztecas, menciona que serán algunos de los modelos mejor logrados los que se programaron para ellos, y dice que tienen 6 unidades de infantería distinta, para contrarrestar sobre todo a la caballería europea y a sus poderosas unidades de artillería. Ahora mi opinión, ¿porque diablos metiron a los aztecas? El juego está ambientado despues de la conquista. Digo, se supone que AoE 2 ya incluía a los Aztecas y Mayas, por eso se llamaba "Age of Conquerors", parece que este AoE3 da un saltito atras en ese sentido, pero si en el juego llegamos más o menos al siglo XVII, cási XVIII, ¿de que sirven los Aztecas, sin cañones, caballería, o unidades de asedio?... Bueno, las unidades serán:
-> Caballero Flecha (Arrow Knight): Arquero, dispara flechas con fuego, útil para asedios.
-> Canoas (tres versiones): Serán las unidades navales más baratas del juego (ya si no, ¡Son canoas!)
-> Velocista Coyote: La unidad que suple a la caballería. Esta infantería es muy rápida y puede luchar batallas en "melee" o sea, en bola.
-> Caballero Aguila Veloz (Eagle Runner Knight): Igual que el anterior, solo que este dispara lanzas, para batallar en distancias intermedias, algo así como los mosqueteros.
-> Caballero Jaguar: Igual que en AoE2, el Caballero Jaguar será la pesadilla en batallas cerradas. Ojalá y sea la infantería más poderosa del juego (infantería sin arma de fuego, claro, como los Rodoleros españoles).
-> Macehualtin: Infantería que dispara palitos....disponible en la segunda edad.
-> Lancero Puma (Puma Spearman): Útil en asedios y contra la caballería, disponible en la segunda edad.
-> Caballero Calavera (Scull Knight): Disponible en edades avanzadas, parece que será infantería pesada.
-> Jefe de Guerra (War Chief): La unidad más poderosa, los soldados aztecas que esten en cerca duplicarán su experiencia por eliminar enemigos.

Maestro me considero fan de AOE hasta antes de salir el AOE3, ya me diste buen inicio y levantaste de nuevo las ganas de jugarlo.
